SCREEN TIME- 0UR NEW ENEMY


         SCREEN DEPENDENCY DISORDER

                     As far as the technology gives us some incredible inventions from so long . We have witnessed  more tech  advancements  in our present era  . However they make our life easier for some purpose but excessive use of anything is harming us .
                                          Yes , I am talking about mobile screen or tv screen. Now a days no adult can be seen without smart phones. Continuously checking phone without any reason or notification , spending plenty of time watching unwanted reels , scrolling social media pages just like that or to get oneself satisfied is becoming a disorder now a days . Just roam around near by , You will definitely find at least one kid with his eyes glued in mobile phone , just because their parents think it is the best way to calm down the kid and control his temper.  People think it to be a convenient way to cope up with their boredom. This increases their duration and dependency more on the screen , which ultimately reversing their mental as well as physical health .
                            Where as we adults have more matured brain to get the pros and cons of anything . These young brains are more prone  to develop such things to their habit in no time. They cannot limit their screen time , If they found something interesting and eye catchy they will demand more screen time ,which changes their brain activities and further leads to  behavioral issues ,aggressiveness,  vision problem, obesity and more physical issues. This is the reason it is more hazardous to our kids .

       SYMPTOMS IN KIDS- 

1. They gradually withdraws from their parents, family and friends, which leads to anxiety and depression .
2. Lack of interest in physical activities .
3. They find screen as their mood booster .
4. Emotional disturbance due to anger issues.
5.Lack of concentration and attention.
6. Short term memory .
7. Lack of sound sleep.
8. Delayed Speech .
9. Distraction from food.
10. Social detachment . 
                                       The long term effects of these symptoms can be fatal too, as they cause brain damage. Most of the studies have shown that continuation of the excessive radiations leads to brain shrink and lose of tissues in the frontal lobe of brain which are responsible for many growth factors  that leads to growth inhibition .
                                                     For  young kids, especially under the age of 3, development rate is super high . They learn by exploring the atmosphere and imitating their adults in their life . In this phase if we handover a phone to them that not only inhibit their developed skills but also effect their upcoming milestones in  negative manner .

TIPS FOR PARENTS - 

                                                As a mother of toddler I personally hate giving screen to my kid because it's my personal experience how it ill effected my toddler in early learning phase . I feel it somehow slowed down his speech and language milestone .Though it is the best way for us to soothe a cranky child but in no time it can turn into a red mark . So beware parents avoid as much as you can .  This disorder is life threatening , I have heard so many cases in my society where kids are suffering a lot and the reason can be anything either child's temper or forcible circumstances of parents . No matter what the safety of your kids in your hand . Here I am sharing some tips - 
* for children younger than 18 months , avoid using screen rather than video calling .
*for 2-5 year children, limit screen time to one hour a day with high quality .
*for 6 years and above , maintain a criteria to what, when and how much they are giving time to screen.
*always accompany your kid while watching screen to implement the better use of content to the child.
*make sure screen time should not replace child's sleep , because adequate sleep is must for everyone specially for developing young brains.
*abide them by rules and engage them more in physical activities .
*spend media free time and have healthy conversation regarding good behavior and general awareness of growing kids .
                             THIS IS LITERALLY MY OPINION BECAUSE MY EFFORTS ARE TO SIDELINE THE OTHER THINGS ( WHENEVER THE CHILD IS CRANKY) FOR THE BETTERMENT OF MY KID'S HEALTH AND FUTURE . MY CHILD - MY PRIORITY .
                     SCREEN FREE KID IS  MORE HAPPIER AND HEALTHIER, IN WHICH NATURE CAN HELP US ONLY.
